Notre Dame Cathedral & Point Zéro – The Heart of Paris
Notre Dame is one of the most famous Gothic cathedrals in the world and a symbol of Paris. Visitors can freely enter the main cathedral, admire the soaring nave, the stained-glass windows, and the atmosphere of this architectural masterpiece – all without a ticket.
The entrance to the cathedral itself is always free. Only the towers, which offer panoramic views, and the underground archaeological crypt require a paid ticket. For most visitors, the free access is more than enough to experience the grandeur and spirit of Notre Dame.
In front of the cathedral lies the Parvis, the large open square where people gather throughout the day. Here you’ll find the bronze marker called Point Zéro – the official center of Paris. All distances in France are measured from this spot, and many visitors stand on it to make a wish.
Even if you don’t climb the towers, the combination of the cathedral and the square gives you the sense of being in the true heart of Paris. The Seine flows just nearby, and the lively atmosphere often includes music, street performers, and the bustle of locals and tourists alike.
Notre Dame is more than just a landmark – it’s a living part of the city, welcoming everyone to step inside.
