Mémorial de la Shoah – Holocaust Memorial
The Mémorial de la Shoah is both a memorial and a museum dedicated to the history of the Holocaust. It stands in the Marais district, and admission is free.
Inside, you’ll find moving exhibits that explain the persecution of Jews in France and Europe during World War II. The museum combines documents, photographs, personal stories, and artifacts to make history tangible. One of the most powerful parts is the Wall of Names, where the names of 76,000 Jews deported from France are engraved.
There is also an archive and documentation center, making it a place of remembrance as well as research. The atmosphere is serious and respectful, and many visitors describe it as one of the most powerful experiences in Paris.
