Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil – Exotic Greenhouses in Paris
On the western edge of Paris, near the Roland Garros tennis stadium, lies a garden that feels like a trip around the world: the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil. Founded in the late 19th century, it is part of the city’s botanical gardens and is best known for its large iron-and-glass greenhouses.
Inside these soaring structures you’ll find tropical palms, orchids, ferns, and rare plants from across the globe. The variety is stunning, and each greenhouse offers a different climate zone, from humid rainforest to arid desert. For plant lovers, it’s a paradise, but even casual visitors enjoy the peaceful, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
Outside the greenhouses, the park is beautifully landscaped with lawns, flowerbeds, and fountains. Statues are scattered around the gardens, adding an artistic touch to the botanical displays.
The Serres d’Auteuil are not as well-known as the Tuileries or Luxembourg, which makes them a quieter and more contemplative place to visit. It’s a perfect stop if you want to combine greenery, architecture, and a touch of the exotic – all without leaving Paris.
